Bird's Nest that are Good Enough to EAT!

Post updated on 3-9-12

These treats are simple, versatile, and very tasty!

The finished product can be used for an Easter treat, upon completion of a bird unit, or just because.

Ingredients:
1 bag Enjoy life Chocolate Chips
1/2 cup Sunbutter (or peanut butter/nut butter of choice)  Use less if you don't like butters or more if you do.
1 bag Grandma Ferdon's Chow Mein Noodles (update 3-9-12 these are no longer corn free, had a reaction)
Jellybeans or peanuts (for the eggs in the nest)

Directions:
In a microwave safe bowl (preferrably glass) melt the chocolate and sunbutter together.  Go slow and stir after every 30 seconds.  You want the chocolate at just the melting point, NOT hot.  If it gets to hot, the chocolate will seize and become a lump.

Pour over chow mein noodles and stir.

Moving quickly, use two spoons to spoon out the noodles into a bird's nest shape.

Let sit until they become solid.  Or refrigerate for those of you who need a faster finish.

Add jellybeans, peanuts etc for eggs as decoration.
